Employee Spotlight: Jessica Schanne, associate vice president of facilities and emergency management

Jessica Schanne, associate vice president of facilities and emergency management, oversees the management of all our facilities, which includes construction projects at our existing sites and new buildings, like the 36,000+ square foot healthcare facility set to open at Kensington and Bailey Avenues in 2026.  

On top of helping our buildings grow and shine, Jess also manages the Evergreen Lofts, oversees our emergency management and helps us plan our long-term growth strategies. 

Everyone is welcome at Evergreen, and Jess and her team work to make sure all our patients have a comfortable, accommodating experience when they walk through our doors. She makes sure all our spaces are accessible, clean and compliant with regulations, while also making sure they’re beautiful and inviting.  

Jess oversees the Evergreen Facilities Team to ensure a welcoming environment for everyone at every location. She’s got a keen sense to anticipate the needs of not only the patients but Evergreen’s team of 500+ employees. 

Jess joined Team Evergreen in 2017 as a phone operator and has progressed through various roles since then, including phone operator specialist, phone operator manager and project specialist. Always passionate about the harm reduction model and its positive impact on the whole person’s health and wellness, Jess was focused on getting ready to go to school to be a counselor until she fell in love with her work at Evergreen. We’re thankful for the pivot and the many ways she shows up embodying our core values. 

Jess is a bold, courageous leader who ensures the safety, sustainability and growth of the healthcare system. She can juggle everything from building renovations to emergency plans with ease. 

She was recently recognized as a Buffalo Business First 40 Under 40 honoree, which is a testament to her commitment to Evergreen and the Western New York community.
