Rahsaan DeLain, vice president of corporate culture for Evergreen Health, is a role model for his colleagues and leads by example, showing how to embody Evergreen’s core values every day.
In his role, Rahsaan drives the vision and strategy for an inclusive organizational culture, social good initiatives and employee relations in alignment with Evergreen’s long-term goal to eradicate health inequity by providing unconditional care. With a contagious passion for serving the community, Rahsaan is a valued ambassador for Evergreen and often represents the federally qualified health center at local events to build new and strengthen existing partnerships, with a focus on fundraising.
Joining Team Evergreen in 2024, Rahsaan immediately began working to identify clear goals and objectives to advance the culture of learning, safety, equity and representation. Within his first months of being at Evergreen, he met with nearly 200 staff members and continues to meet with staff on an individual basis to understand each role in the organization.
Listening is central to Rahsaan’s leadership approach. He listens to truly understand, not just to respond. This has a profound impact on employee engagement throughout the organization. He believes it’s essential to connect personally with every member of the Evergreen team. By putting faces to names, he builds genuine relationships.
He’s also a key leader in the Ken-Bailey Project, Evergreen Health and Community Access Services‘ new comprehensive healthcare center coming to 3070 Bailey Avenue that will provide access to quality medical care and supportive services. This project will transform an area that’s federally designated as a medically underserved area because it currently lacks the appropriate healthcare resources needed to meet the needs of the population.
Rahsaan is a changemaker who plays a crucial role in promoting an environment that values and encourages authenticity, ultimately creating a safe space for everyone to be their true self. He’s a champion for uplifting others with his words and actions.
He was recently recognized as a Buffalo Business First Impact Award honoree, which is a testament to his commitment to Evergreen and the Western New York Community. Rahsaan is being recognized for his work driving meaningful change at Evergreen and within the community.
