COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Testing

Evergreen Health and Community Access Services are offering drive through Covid-19 viral testing at its location at 3297 Bailey Ave. starting Wednesday, May 20, 2020. The testing site will be open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Appointment only. Please call 716-847-2441 and choose option 7 to be directed to someone who can schedule your appointment. Please call during regular business hours Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. We will begin accepting appointments on Friday, May 15, 2020.

Is Evergreen Health offering COVID-19 viral screening testing?

Yes, Evergreen Health and Community Access Services are offering drive through COVID-19 viral testing at its location at 3297 Bailey Ave. starting Wednesday, May 20, 2020.

 

What is the COVID-19 viral screening test and how do I know if I should get it?

If you have any of the symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, chills, cough, difficulty breathing, muscle pain, headache, sore throat and/or loss of taste or smell) or if you don’t have symptoms but think you may have been exposed to COVID-19, a viral screening test can help determine if you have the infection right now. The viral screening consists of a nasal swab testing and only takes a few minutes. You must be 16 or older to get tested at Bailey Ave.

 

What are the days and times COVID-19 viral testing is available?

Testing is available Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The last appointment scheduled each day will be at 12:45 p.m.

 

Do I need an appointment?

Yes. Please call us at 716-847-2441 and choose option 7 to be directed to someone who can schedule your appointment.

 

Do I need a prescription or referral from a doctor to get a test?

No. You do not need a prescription or referral from a doctor.

 

Who is eligible to receive a test at this location?

While this location will primarily serve those living in the 14215 zip code, we will not turn anyone away who feels they need to get tested. You do not have to live in the 14215 zip code to receive a test at this location.

 

Is the COVID-19 viral test free?

The cost of the test is covered by Medicaid and Medicaid Managed Care Plans. There is no out-of-pocket cost or copay for the test.

 

Do I need to have health insurance to get tested at 3297Bailey Ave.?

Yes. When you call Evergreen to make an appointment, we will verify your health insurance before setting up your appointment. If you do not have insurance, you can get tested at the Quest Diagnostics Walmart drive-through testing site located at 2500 Walden Ave. in Cheektowaga. You’ll need to make an appointment to be tested at this location, as well. Call the Quest COVID-19 hotline at 866-488-7719 for more information.

 

Do I need to bring my insurance card with me to my appointment?

Yes. Please bring your insurance card and photo ID to your appointment.

 

Do I need to be a patient of Evergreen Health or Community Access Services to receive a test at this location?

No. You do not need to be a patient of Evergreen or Community Access Services to get tested at this location.

 

Do I need to wear a mask to my appointment?

Yes. Masks or face coverings are required as you will speak to someone when you arrive who will verify your appointment and collect any information that may be needed. You should remain in your vehicle, however, and we require that you wear a mask or face covering for your whole appointment. Our staff will also be wearing masks and following all the recommended safety guidelines.

 

Do I need to have a car to be tested at this site?

The testing site at 3297 Bailey Ave. is a drive through site. The drive through set up allows us to follow important safety protocols that keep our screeners and those being tested safe.  Therefore, arrival by vehicle is strongly encouraged. We will, however, accommodate walk-up appointments as well. Individuals without a vehicle can be tested at this location. Please let us know how you’ll be arriving when you make your appointment.

 

How long will it take to get my test results?

It will take 2-3 days for you to receive your test results.

 

What do I do if I receive a positive test result and how will I be notified?

If your test result is positive, meaning you have COVID-19, you will be notified by phone by the Erie County Department of Health. They will walk you through everything you need to know regarding isolation and notifying those around you that may need to be tested, as well.

 

What do I do if I receive a negative test result and how will I be notified?

If your test result if negative, meaning you don’t have COVID-19, you will receive a call from our team at Evergreen Health. A negative test does not mean you won’t ever possibly contract COVID-19 in the future, it just means you aren’t sick right now with the virus.

 

Can I get tested more than once?

Yes. If you become symptomatic after you received a negative test result or feel you may have come into contact with someone who is symptomatic or who has COVID-19, you can get re-tested.

                                                                                

Will the test be conducted outside or inside the building?

The tests will be conducted outside only. This is a drive though testing site so you can remain in your car for your entire appointment.
