MOCHA Buffalo is a place where LGBTQ+ people of color can build community while accessing support and resources for their health, happiness, and education.

MOCHA CARES (Continuing Adult Readiness for Education)

Continuing your education as an adult can be challenging. That’s why MOCHA CARES is here to help LGBTQ+ men of color over age 30 achieve their educational dreams!

Whether you’re considering your options, working on applications, or are already enrolled, we can offer you one-on-one support and financial assistance to help you reach your goals and be successful in your education.

We can help you start and complete your education in:

  • post-secondary school
  • GED programs
  • trade programs including lineman, barber, welding, cosmetology, culinary, HVAC, phlebotomy, electrician, and more!
  • ESL (English as a second language)

Free & confidential STI, HIV, and Hep C testing

STI, HIV, and Hep C testing at MOCHA is always free, confidential, and judgement-free. We can also connect you to PrEP to prevent HIV, sexual health treatment, HIV and Hepatitis C care, and more as needed. Plus, we can give you all the free condoms and lube you need!

Supportive counseling

We offer free supportive counseling for LGBTQ+ people of color ages 13-29. Our licensed mental health counselor is available for in-person or virtual support on Tuesdays from 3-6:30pm.

Community and connection

Our goal is to offer a safe space for LGBTQ+ people of color to connect, socialize, and network.

About MOCHA

Founded in 1996 as the Men of Color Health Awareness Project, MOCHA Buffalo works to educate LGBTQ+ people of color about living sex-positive lives.

In May 2021, MOCHA Buffalo officially became part of the Evergreen Health Center for Supportive Services.
