Support our neighbors going without SNAP this November.

2025 10 30 Donations

Over 140,000 of our Erie County neighbors who rely on SNAP to put food on the table are preparing to go without SNAP benefits this November, adding pressure to an already stressful holiday season.

This means that food pantries, like ours at Evergreen, are getting ready to help our community combat a drastic rise in food insecurity.

Please consider making a donation to our food pantry – every bit helps. Visit our website to make a monetary donation, or drop off a delivery of shelf-stable foods (we can’t take refrigerated donations) to 206 S. Elmwood Ave from 9am-5pm on Wednesdays.

We’re closed for Thanksgiving Day

October is American Diabetes Month

2025 10 30 Diabetes V3

Diabetes affects millions of Americans, but with the right care, it can be managed and even prevented. Going to your annual check-up visit can help catch problems early and keep you healthy.

If you have diabetes or are at risk, talk with your care team about steps you can take, including healthy eating, staying active, and taking medications as prescribed. Every small change adds up!

This month let’s work together to stay on top of diabetes care and protect your long-term health.

November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month

2025 10 30 Lung

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths, but finding it early through screening can save lives. A safe, simple, low-dose CT (LDCT) scan can detect lung cancer before symptoms appear.

You may qualify for screening if you:

  • Are 50–80 years old
  • Have a history of 20 pack-years of smoking (for example, 1 pack a day for 20 years)
  • Currently smoke or quit within the past 15 years

If you think you may be eligible, talk with your primary care provider. Evergreen, in partnership with Roswell Park, offers a Lung Cancer Screening Navigator to guide you through the process. Taking this step could make all the difference.
